Porsche has decided to bring back a manual transmission for the 911 Carrera S, but the new version will be available exclusively in the North American market, according to infohub.kz.

The move comes as part of the MT Package for the 992.2-generation 911 Carrera S. Instead of the eight-speed PDK automatic, the car gets a six-speed manual gearbox familiar from the 911 Carrera T.

The car remains rear-wheel drive, and buyers can choose between coupe and cabriolet body styles. Under the hood sits a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 473 horsepower.

Porsche attributes the return of the manual to high demand from North American customers. The company emphasizes not maximum acceleration but the joy of driving and the direct connection between driver and machine.

The manual Carrera S comes standard with rear-axle steering and a sports suspension that lowers the car by 10 mm (PASM). It also features a specially tuned exhaust system.

Standard equipment includes a SportDesign front bumper, titanium exhaust tips with black finishers, and a red 'S' logo. For the first time on the Carrera S, center-lock wheels are available, reducing unsprung weight by more than 7 kg.

Inside, there are sport seats with a houndstooth pattern, matte black aluminum trim, and a walnut wood gear knob for the manual shifter.

However, European enthusiasts will find it harder to get one: in Germany, this Carrera S will not be sold. But the inability to buy it could save around €144,400 (approximately 77.4 million tenge).
