Education Minister Zholdas Suleimenova clarified the situation regarding demands by some schools about the color of school uniforms during a briefing at the government, as reported by infohub.kz.
The clarification came in response to a journalist's question about the current norms for school attire in Kazakhstani educational institutions. As the head of the ministry noted, the basic rules allow for blue and black colors. As for hairstyles, the Ministry of Education does not impose strict regulations—this issue is left to the discretion of each school's administration.
The main criterion, according to Suleimenova, is that the student's appearance should not hinder the educational process. "A student should be neat. But at the same time, we do not intend to over-regulate hairstyles or appearance. Both black and blue colors are allowed," the minister emphasized.
Earlier, in Astana, parents complained about threats of fines for the "wrong" color of trousers, and in Uralsk, schools were sent memos with recommended hairstyles. Today, the head of the Ministry of Education gave an official comment on these incidents.
