SpaceX has introduced a next-generation satellite terminal, the Starlink V5, offering internet speeds exceeding 375 Mbps. The device is lighter and more compact, according to the website infohub.kz.
According to the company, the new terminal is 35% smaller than its predecessor, the Starlink V4. The antenna weight has been reduced to 1.1 kg, simplifying transportation and installation, especially in remote areas.
Power consumption has also dropped significantly: the Starlink V5 typically draws 35–50 W — nearly 50% less than the previous model.
The terminal retains a 110-degree field of view, IP67 protection, and an antenna heating function for snow melting.
SpaceX has also improved weather resistance: while the Starlink V4 was rated for winds up to 97 km/h, the new model operates in gusts of up to 265 km/h.
The package includes an updated Router Mini with Wi-Fi 6 support, two gigabit Ethernet ports, and the ability to serve up to 235 devices simultaneously. It is compatible with the existing Starlink mesh network ecosystem.
The price and mass-market availability of the new terminal have not yet been disclosed.
Notably, Starlink satellite internet will be available on KTZ trains by the end of summer.
