The fourth installment of Spider-Man's adventures starring Tom Holland continues to break records. The film 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' has crossed the $2 billion mark at the global box office in just three weeks, according to infohub.kz.
According to Variety, the film has grossed $785 million in North America and another $1.23 billion internationally, totaling $2.022 billion. This makes it the eighth film in cinematic history to reach this milestone. Only 'Avengers: Endgame' achieved it faster, hitting the mark in 11 days.
The prestigious club of films grossing over $2 billion also includes 'Avatar', 'Avatar: The Way of Water', 'Titanic', 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', and 'Avengers: Infinity War'. Holland's previous solo outing, 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', stalled at around $1.9 billion and did not make the list.
The new film is already vying for the title of the year's biggest premiere. In its opening weekend alone, it grossed $927 million worldwide, marking the second-best start in history.
The superhero movie is also dominating the Kazakh box office. According to Freedom Ticketon, the film grossed 1.373 billion tenge over its first weekend.
