Russian workwear and protective equipment manufacturer Tekhnoavia has launched a special footwear factory in Semey. This is the company's first footwear branch in Kazakhstan, according to infohub.kz.
The new production facility has expanded the capacity of Tekhnoavia – Kazakhstan, which has operated a garment factory in Semey since 2023. The footwear enterprise has created more than 30 jobs. In the future, the investor plans to purchase additional equipment, expand floor space and increase output.
The company's garment division produces workwear for the industrial and medical sectors. Its design capacity is 160,000 items per year, with 85% of products going to export. In 2025, the factory produced 135,171 items and employs 152 people.
In 2026, Tekhnoavia – Kazakhstan entered the register of domestic producers of Kazakhstan. Along with the launch of the footwear factory, the company opened a branded store in Semey and signed memorandums of cooperation with six major enterprises in the region – Bakyrchik Mining Enterprise, Qazaq-Astyq Group, Eurasia Agro Semey, Eikos, KondiZ distribution and Silikat.
"In 2023, we launched a special clothing factory in Semey. Now we are expanding production and opening a special footwear factory. It is worth noting that this is the first branch of our company for the production of special footwear in Kazakhstan. It is especially important for us that it is opened in the Abai region, in Semey. I express my gratitude to the regional leadership for the comprehensive support provided in the implementation of our projects," said Zhanat Amirenov, General Director of Tekhnoavia – Kazakhstan.
Abai Region Akim Berik Uali urged local businesses to actively purchase products from Kazakh factories and develop production cooperation within the region, rather than ordering analogues abroad.
Who is behind the project
The Tekhnoavia Group was registered in Moscow in 1992, and over this time it has become one of the largest workwear manufacturers in Russia. In Russia, the structure manages 10 garment factories and one footwear factory, producing over 5.5-6 million garments and more than 1.15-1.2 million pairs of special footwear per year.
According to open registers, three entrepreneurs from Russia are beneficiaries of both the Russian group and the Kazakh company:
Andrey Popov – General Director and one of the key founders of the parent company Firm Tekhnoavia (the group's revenue is measured in tens of billions of rubles). He owns shares in related companies of the holding (factories and trading houses).
Alexandra Konorova – co-founder of several companies in the group, including the Moscow firm Tekhnoavia.
Galina Maslova – founder of nearly two dozen companies in the Tekhnoavia orbit, participating in the capital of the parent structure and its regional branches.
The Kazakh division Tekhnoavia – Kazakhstan is headed by Zhanat Amrenov. He is also one of four co-owners of the local company.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that a company owned by a Russian and the son of a former deputy will spend 1.2 billion tenge on gold mining.
