US President Donald Trump has named the person he sees as the Republican Party's candidate for the 2028 presidential election, according to infohub.kz.

Sources told the Washington Post that Vice President JD Vance is to be the Republican nominee, a decision made by Trump and recently communicated to party donors.

"A presidential adviser familiar with the conversation with donors said Trump has privately decided that Vance should be the heir to Republican Party leadership," the report said.

Earlier this year, Trump listed potential candidates for the 2028 race, including Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. In May, when asked again, the list was narrowed to Vance and Rubio.
