Istanbul's High Criminal Court has placed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on an international wanted list through Interpol as a particularly dangerous criminal. The decision was made on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, according to infohub.kz.

The court ordered an international arrest warrant for Netanyahu in connection with Tel Aviv's interception of a humanitarian aid flotilla for the Gaza Strip. The flotilla, known as the Global Sumud Flotilla, was attempting to deliver aid to Gaza.

In April, the Istanbul prosecutor's office announced an indictment against 35 individuals, including Netanyahu, for the armed seizure of the flotilla's ships. Besides Netanyahu, the defendants include Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, his predecessor Yoav Galant, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir, and others.

They are charged with "crimes against humanity," "genocide," "deprivation of liberty," "intentional infliction of bodily harm," "torture," "robbery," "destruction or damage of property," and "vehicle hijacking." The prosecutor is seeking life imprisonment for all defendants.

In May, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened Netanyahu that he would soon "learn a lesson" from Muslims around the world.

Israel rejects the allegations. Tel Aviv maintains that the Global Sumud flotilla was organized by Turkey in another attempt to breach the naval blockade of the Gaza Strip.
