A short-term professional training program for the unemployed has launched in the Karaganda region, with 250 people set to acquire new skills. Overall, the region plans to train 481 residents this year, according to the website infohub.kz.
The training is held at educational institutions and training centers in fields including cook, hairdresser, seamstress, seamstress-cutter, repair mechanic, accountant-cashier, assembler, electric and gas welder, 1C operator, programmer, nail technician, and others. The list of specialties was compiled based on employer requests.
The most popular courses are nail technician and hairdresser, followed by cook, then webmaster and web designer. The least popular are printing equipment adjuster and bookbinder.
Courses last from three to six months depending on the complexity of the qualification. Participants receive a monthly stipend of 32,681 tenge, transportation compensation of 4 MCI (monthly calculation index, 14,768 tenge), accommodation compensation of 10 MCI (36,920 tenge). Medical examinations are covered by the state at 2 MCI (7,384 tenge).
Upon completion, each program participant will be employed in a permanent job. Applications for the short-term courses are being accepted at career centers in cities and districts of the Karaganda region.
