In the United States, soldiers have been offered an unusual reward for continuing their service. Troops of the 3rd Infantry Division in Georgia have been promised four days off right on the release day of the highly anticipated game Grand Theft Auto 6, reports infohub.kz.
The game is set to launch on November 19, 2026. To get four days of rest to dive into the virtual world, service members must extend their contract by at least two more years. The deadline to do so is November 14.
The idea came from a local career counselor, who decided to offer soldiers a bonus that truly aligns with their interests. The move worked: out of 130 people, 20 soldiers have already signed new documents for a four-day leave around the release.
It's not just the military gearing up for GTA 6. Many fans are planning to take time off work in advance. One Canadian company, Edison Motors, even decided to fully close on November 19 and 20. Management honestly admitted that on those days, half the staff would be "off to explore Vice City" anyway, so normal work wouldn't be possible.
Incidentally, such a creative approach could well work in Kazakhstan, given the large number of fans of this game. Gamers and young professionals would clearly not mind a couple of "gaming days off" for excellent performance at work, contract extensions, and so on.
Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that a new leak of GTA 6 materials is linked to a protest against digital pre-orders. The hacker group Cyberleek, which claimed responsibility for the leak, posted a manifesto with demands to game publishers.
