Kazakhstan is preparing an unusual addition to the Nissan lineup: the official distributor will offer another Qashqai. It is not a new generation, but a second-generation crossover built in China. The model has already received a Vehicle Type Approval (VTA), which revealed the specifications for the version destined for our market, according to infohub.kz.

Currently, Nissan's official lineup in Kazakhstan includes the third-generation Qashqai. Back in June, the distributor said it planned to bring the Chinese Qashqai Glory to the country by the end of 2026.

Now its arrival is confirmed by a VTA registered on October 2, 2026. The applicant is Exclusive Auto Kazakhstan LLP, part of the Orbis Auto structure, while the manufacturer is listed as Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. The vehicles are produced at the Dongfeng Nissan plant in Dalian.

As a result, the brand's Kazakh lineup will simultaneously feature two Qashqais of different generations and from different countries.

The certified vehicle is of type P32S0. It is a front-wheel-drive crossover measuring 4,407 mm long, 1,837 mm wide and 1,610 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,646 mm.

Under the hood is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated MR20 engine with direct injection. The VTA lists output at 103 kW (about 140 hp) and torque at 184 Nm; the engine is designed for 92-octane gasoline. The powertrain is paired with an X-Tronic continuously variable transmission, and drive goes to the front wheels.

The curb weight is 1,475–1,492 kg, while the technically permissible maximum weight is 1,890 kg.

The Chinese Qashqai Glory differs from the global version not only in origin. Nissan representatives previously said the vehicle for Kazakhstan would get additional "warm" features not available on the Chinese version.

The VTA itself confirms the presence of a climate control system, tire pressure monitoring and ISOFIX anchors. A temporary spare tire is available as an option.

There is no information yet on when sales will begin or on the price of the new Nissan Qashqai. The model is expected to be launched on the Kazakh market by the end of 2026.

Earlier, Kursiv Auto reported that Nissan would discontinue 11 models, including the Altima and Rogue PHEV.
