Astana Schools Shift to Remote Learning for Young Students Due to Cold
Astana is implementing a temporary shift to remote learning for some of its youngest students on February 13th. This decision comes as a response to unfavorable weather conditions impacting the capital city.
Cold Weather Prompts Remote Learning
Specifically, students in grades 0 through 6 attending the first shift will transition to online classes. The measure is a direct result of dropping temperatures, making it unsafe for young children to commute to school.
Extended Period of Remote Learning
This is not the first time this week that younger students have been affected by the cold. For the past several days, the first shift of elementary school students has been learning from home due to the ongoing frost. Forecasters had previously issued warnings about the weather expected in Astana and Almaty on February 13th.
