Kazakh Boxers Rewarded Millions for Asian Championship Gold Medals
Kazakhstan's triumphant boxers, Sabizhan Akkalykov and Dina Islambekova, have been awarded significant cash prizes for clinching gold medals at the recent Asian Championship. This recognition celebrates their outstanding achievements on the continental stage.
Generous Rewards for Champions
Sabizhan Akkalykov, who competed in the men's up to 75 kg category, and Dina Islambekova, a dominant force in the women's over 80 kg division, each received a cash certificate valued at 3 million tenge. The championship took place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Intense Finals Showcased Skill
In a closely contested final, Sabizhan Akkalykov faced Uzbekistan's Javokhir Abdurakhimov. After three rounds of intense boxing, the judges unanimously declared Akkalykov the winner with a 5:0 score.
Dina Islambekova's final opponent was India's Alfiya Pathan, the 2021 Youth World Champion. Islambekova demonstrated clear superiority, securing another decisive 5:0 victory for Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan's Strong Performance
The Kazakh boxing team achieved a remarkable overall medal count at the Asian Championship, securing a total of 13 medals. This impressive haul included 6 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals, positioning the team at the top of the overall standings.
