Kazakhstan Mobile and Internet Users Face Price Hikes from June 1

Kazakhstan's telecommunications landscape is set for significant changes as major mobile operators and internet providers announce adjustments to their tariffs and service agreements, effective June 1, 2026. These updates will affect monthly costs for mobile services, home internet, and television packages.

Mobile Operator Changes

Beeline Discontinues 'Reliable Minutes and SMS' Service

Starting June 1, 2026, Beeline will cease its 'Reliable Minutes and SMS' service. This means subscribers will no longer be able to borrow minutes or messages. The operator suggests using the 'Reliable Payment' service as an alternative for temporary balance top-ups.

Tele2 and Altel Update Early Tariff Renewal Rules

As of May 20, 2026, Tele2 and Altel have revised their rules for renewing tariffs ahead of schedule. If a data package is exhausted before the end of the billing cycle, a renewal will incur an additional 590 tenge on top of the regular subscription fee. This option can be activated via the mobile app in the 'My Tariff' section.

Altel Reduces Costs for Family Tariffs

Effective June 22, 2026, Altel is revamping its 'My Family' tariff line, lowering prices while maintaining full service offerings. Subscribers will benefit from unlimited internet, calls within Altel and Tele2 networks, SMS, and access to online cinemas. New pricing includes 'My Family 3' at 8,990 tenge for the first three months, then 11,990 tenge; 'My Family 5' at 10,720 tenge, then 14,290 tenge; and 'My Family 7' at 14,620 tenge, then 19,490 tenge. Existing customers will see these changes after their current promotions conclude.

Activ Ends Some Unlimited Promotions

From May 25, 2026, activ is discontinuing unlimited access to social media, messengers, and Kazakhstani web services on several tariffs, including 'TOP Promo L', 'Prokachaenny', and partially on 'TOP Promo M'. The company is promoting its family tariffs as a more cost-effective alternative for multiple users.

Kcell and Activ Increase Mobi Music Subscription Price

Starting May 28, 2026, the monthly subscription cost for the mobi Music service will rise to 1,290 tenge. The service will continue to offer access to a music library, high-quality streaming, and stable application performance. The increase is attributed to content expansion and service improvements.

IZI Offers Discounts for New Subscribers

Between May 20 and June 20, 2026, IZI is offering a 50% discount on its ULTRA BOOST tariff. The promotion is valid for the first three months, with the tariff priced at 1,845 tenge using the promo code IZI50. New subscriptions can be made online, via eSIM, with SIM card delivery, or through number porting.

Internet Provider Adjustments

Transtelecom Modifies Internet Tariffs

Transtelecom will update pricing for a portion of its internet tariffs starting June 1, 2026. The company cites changing market conditions and the need to maintain service quality as reasons for the adjustment.

almaPLUS Concludes Internet Connection Promotions

Until June 1, 2026, almaPLUS is offering two months of free access to the almaTV online cinema and complimentary internet connection for private residences, where technically feasible.

Television Service Updates

Kazakhtelecom Launches Sport+ Package

Beginning June 1, 2026, several sports channels will be consolidated into the new Sport+ package. This includes channels like MMA-TV.COM HD, KHL Prime HD, Setanta Sports 1/2 HD, and Q Football HD. The package will cost 1,290 tenge per month and is available as an add-on to the main TV package.

Beeline Temporarily Alters BeeTV Interface

From May 26 to July 22, 2026, during the World Cup, the 'Kids' section within the BeeTV application will be temporarily moved to the 'Kino' category due to updates. The interface on Smart TVs and the BeeTV website will remain unchanged.

almaPLUS Updates Channel Lineup

Starting June 1, 2026, almaPLUS will revise its lineup of digital, STV, and analog TV channels. Several channels will be replaced with new thematic and entertainment programs.

These changes across Kazakhstan's communication and digital services market in June 2026 signal a trend towards tariff revisions, the conclusion of promotional offers, content updates, and a growing emphasis on bundled services and family-oriented plans.
