Kremlin Denies Rumors of Victory Day Parade Cancellation in Moscow

Rumors circulating in Russia suggested that the traditional military parade for Victory Day on May 9th might be canceled. However, the Kremlin has officially refuted these claims, stating that preparations for the celebratory events are continuing in a standard mode.

Kremlin's Official Response

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the President of Russia, addressed the information spreading on social media regarding the potential cancellation of the parade. He confirmed that preparations for the events commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War are actively underway in Moscow.

Parade Preparations Underway

According to Peskov, the main rehearsal for the parade on Red Square is scheduled for May 7th. The Kremlin also indicated its readiness to invite leaders from friendly countries to participate in the celebratory events.

Context from Kazakhstan

It is worth noting that military parades have not been held in Kazakhstan since 2020. Initially, these restrictions were due to the coronavirus pandemic, and later they were continued to save budget funds. However, a military parade was held in Astana in 2025 for 2.5 billion tenge.
