Man Detained for Acid Attack and Stabbing of Ex-Girlfriend in St. Petersburg
A man in St. Petersburg has been detained after allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend with acid, a knife, and a flare gun. A court has ordered him to remain in custody until July 23.
Brutal Attack Unfolds
According to investigators, the violent incident occurred on May 23 in an apartment on Zheleznovodskaya Street. The 27-year-old suspect reportedly sought revenge against the woman.
The man allegedly poured acid on his ex-girlfriend, fired a flare gun at her, and then stabbed her before attempting to flee the scene.
Victim Hospitalized, Friend Injured
The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Her friend, who attempted to intervene and help, sustained burns to her hand during the assault.
The suspect was apprehended by authorities the following day.
