Olympic Medalist Saken Bibossinov Set for WBA Asia Title Fight
Kazakhstan's celebrated boxer, Saken Bibossinov, a bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics and a two-time world champion, is gearing up for a significant title fight.
He will compete for the WBA Asia belt against undefeated Indonesian boxer Suriya Dharma. The bout is scheduled to take place on May 23 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
A New Date for a Coveted Title
This championship match was initially planned for April 17. However, due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, the Japanese promotion company decided to postpone the event.
This fight marks a potential milestone in Bibossinov's professional career, as it could be his first title bout. He has already made a strong start to his professional journey, securing two victories, with at least one ending by knockout.
Bibossinov's Determination
In a video message, Bibossinov expressed his enthusiasm and focus: "This is a very important fight, my first title bout. I want to thank the promoters for this opportunity. I have prepared extensively for this match and aim to win and make my fans proud."
He acknowledged his opponent, stating, "Suriya Dharma is a very strong opponent. I have watched videos of his fights. We are preparing meticulously, and I hope to deliver a great performance and a victory."

Saken Bibossinov is recognized as one of Kazakhstan's top boxers. His impressive accolades include two gold medals from the World Championships (2021, 2025), a bronze medal from the Tokyo Olympics (2020), and three medals from the Asian Championships (2021, 2022).
