A proposed pedestrian bridge across the Eurasia River in Atyrau، first discussed a year ago، has yet to progress beyond the conceptual stage، according to city officials.

The project aimed to connect the Youth Park in the University district with the city's right bank، specifically the area housing 'Atyrau-Akparat'. Initially، authorities indicated they were seeking funding for the construction.

Project Stalled at Conceptual Phase

However، current discussions appear limited to the bridge's concept and potential locations. While the 'Atyrau-Akparat' area remains a possibility، other sites near Kurmangazy Square and along Smagulov Street are also being considered.

Crucially، a funding source for the project has not been identified، and no budget allocations have been requested. Consequently، the necessary design and estimate documentation has not been prepared.

In essence، over the past year، the idea for a second pedestrian bridge over the Eurasia River has not materialized into any concrete financial or design commitments.

Concerns linger that this project، like others previously announced، might remain an attractive visual concept presented in official slideshows without ever breaking ground، especially given questions about its necessity for the city.
