Starting July 14، the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) introduced new requirements for importing mobile devices: customs declarations for express cargo must now include IMEI codes for smartphones and tablets with mobile connectivity. The measure currently applies only to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan، according to infohub.kz.
The changes were made to the procedure for filling out passenger customs declarations for express cargo. “This is due to national rules for registering and verifying such devices when they are brought into the EAEU customs territory،” the EEC said.
Recall that the form and procedure for filling out passenger customs declarations for express cargo were approved by the EEC Board on October 16، 2018. The document is used when declaring goods for personal use transported by express carriers.
