Units of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations are fighting a large fire in an administrative building in the Tomiris microdistrict of Almaty's Alatau district، Qumash.kz reports.
The blaze has been given an elevated response rank. "An operational headquarters has been set up on site. Reconnaissance is underway to check for people، and the roof is being opened to locate and extinguish hidden hot spots،" the city's emergency department said.
Firefighters are working on two fronts: extinguishing the main fire and protecting a neighboring building from the flames. To ensure a steady water supply، they are drawing water from all available open sources. No information on possible casualties or fatalities is available yet. The fire has been contained.
