Following visits by Kazakh delegations to Georgia، Turkey، and Azerbaijan، the fight against transnational criminal groups has intensified، reports infohub.kz.
Thanks to established communication channels، the murder of Kazakh citizen Ismailov in Istanbul has been solved، and two perpetrators have been detained. The organizer and mastermind، both from transnational criminal circles، have been identified and are on an international wanted list. This information also helped solve other serious crimes committed by an organized criminal group led by a crime boss currently serving a sentence in the United States. In Almaty، one of the group's hitmen was arrested for an attempted murder of a city resident in August 2025. The weapon، a pistol، was seized. The investigation into that case has been completed and the criminal case sent to court.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs، in cooperation with colleagues from Georgia and Turkey، conducted a phased special operation to detain members of a transnational organized crime group across three countries. In the city of Almaty، a group of individuals from this criminal structure was detained، accused of involvement in several armed attacks. Evidence is being gathered on all known criminal incidents، and all involved persons are being identified. Efforts are underway to hold the group's organizer accountable under the law،" said Kuandyk Alpys، a representative of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Earlier in Georgia، another high-profile arrest was made، this time of the manager of the controversial website kizdar.net.
