Alatau City Bank, controlled by Kazakh entrepreneur and Kaspi.kz co-owner Vyacheslav Kim, is listing a new issue of commercial paper with a total nominal value of $50 million on the Astana International Exchange (AIX). Trading in the securities will begin on September 15, 2026, according to infohub.kz.
According to an AIX notice dated September 14, the issue consists of 50,000 paper notes with a nominal value of $1,000 each. The issue currency is the US dollar.
The issue price is set at 95.24% of nominal value. That means a $1,000 note costs $952.40 at placement. The issue carries no coupon rate or coupon payment schedule. Investors' return comes from the difference between the purchase price and the nominal value paid at maturity.
If an investor buys a note for $952.40 and receives $1,000 at maturity, the return will be $47.60 per note. That corresponds to a yield of about 5% over the period to maturity. AIX states that the issue volume is 50,000 notes. All of them are admitted to trading.
The bank must redeem the commercial paper on September 15, 2027. The minimum trading lot is one note. Commercial paper is a short-term debt instrument. Companies and financial institutions can use it to raise financing and manage liquidity.
Alatau City Bank is controlled by Kazakh entrepreneur and Kaspi.kz co-owner Vyacheslav Kim. He ranks first on Forbes' list of Kazakhstan's wealthiest businessmen with a fortune of $7.8 billion.
