The Almaty Education Department has commented on the amount of aid allocated to low-income families for school preparation. This year, the aid amounts to 60,000 tenge, as reported by infohub.kz.

At a briefing at the Regional Communications Service, the head of the city's Education Department, Saken Aralbayev, said that 460 million tenge has been allocated for financial assistance for the school season in Almaty. The aid will cover 7,669 children, including orphans, children from low-income families, and families receiving targeted social assistance.

"This year, the payment amount in Almaty is 60,000 tenge per child. The funds are transferred directly to the parents' card accounts so they can choose the uniform and stationery themselves," noted the head of the department.

He also addressed whether this amount is sufficient for school preparations. "We calculated the cost of a suit, tracksuit, backpack, stationery, and so on. In my opinion, 60,000 tenge is enough to prepare a student for the new school year. If additional needs arise among low-income families, we, together with district akimats, are ready to provide extra help within the 'Road to School' campaign," said Saken Aralbayev.

Furthermore, according to the speaker, as part of the nationwide charity campaign 'Road to School', it is planned to provide necessary school supplies to 8,660 children using sponsor funds from district akimats.

As of August 17 this year, charitable assistance has been provided through district akimats to 3,968 students from low-income families, totaling 98 million tenge.
