Kazakhstan's capital has launched the construction of the QAZBOT complex, which will become the country's first facility for producing humanoid robots and developing artificial intelligence solutions. Investments in the first phase alone are estimated at around $200 million, according to infohub.kz.
QAZBOT Technologies said the new Robotics & AI complex will combine research, engineering, localized production, and practical implementation of robotic technologies.
The complex will house its own research and development center, focusing on software and AI model development, testing and adapting robotic systems, and training engineering personnel.
AGIBOT is the project's strategic technology partner. Representatives of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development and the Astana akimat also attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
According to QAZBOT Technologies CEO Vladislav Safarov, the project is moving from concept to building its own technological infrastructure.
"Our goal is to unite research, engineering expertise, production, and implementation in Kazakhstan into a single system. This will allow us not only to adapt advanced technologies but also to develop our own solutions and train specialists," Safarov said.
One of QAZBOT's key focuses will be integrating robotics and AI-based solutions directly into the economy.
Potential applications include industry, logistics, finance, medicine, education, social services, and the service sector.
The project goes beyond robot assembly. The site aims to create a full technological cycle, from research and software development to production, testing, and subsequent implementation.
