The average salary for a resident of Kazakhstan's capital in the first half of 2026 was about $1,300, while a worker in Moscow earned an average of $2,600. The figures come from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), according to infohub.kz.
According to EEC data for June 2026, among the countries of the Eurasian Union, residents of the Russian capital enjoy the highest salaries. Muscovites earn an average of 197,000 rubles a month, equivalent to $2,580.
Residents of Minsk rank second among EAEU countries. In the Belarusian capital, the average nominal salary was 3,900 local rubles, or $1,360.
In Astana, according to the EEC, the average salary in the first half of the year was 631,500 tenge, or $1,300. That means salaries in Astana were half those in Moscow and slightly below those of workers in Minsk when converted into dollars.
The lowest salaries among the capitals of the union's member states are in Bishkek and Yerevan. A resident of Bishkek earns an average of $756, while a resident of Yerevan earns $953.
It is worth noting that household deposits in Kazakhstan are 18 times smaller than in Russia.
