Kazakhstan national team forward Dastan Satpayev has commented for the first time on his loan move to English club Burnley. The product of Kairat left the Almaty club in June to join Chelsea, but after pre-season training, the London club sent the 18-year-old on a season-long loan to Burnley, who play in the Championship, England's second tier, reports infohub.kz.
Satpayev is confident that this experience will benefit him. "I think this is a good and right step for me. I will adapt and see how they play in the Championship. It will help me get used to English football better. I just need to work and improve," the forward said in an interview with the club's press service.
The Kazakhstani also shared details of his adaptation to the new team. According to him, relations with teammates and head coach Nick Hayen, a Belgian, are good. "The first days have been great. All the guys are friendly, always asking how I am and if I need anything. So I'm happy to be here and be part of the club. I'm always ready to help the guys, just as they help me. And if I do something wrong, they always tell me what I can improve to get better. The coach is very good. We have good communication. He says he's happy about my move. It's important when the coach says that. So I just need to keep developing and moving forward," Satpayev said.
The busy schedule of the Championship and the FA Cup does not scare the forward. On the contrary, he believes that playing every three or four days helps maintain match fitness. Satpayev stressed that he does not intend to rest on his laurels from Kairat and the national team. "Of course, it's nice, but it's not all I can do. I can do better. If I keep going like this, maybe I can set new records," the player noted.
Satpayev is currently looking for housing in England. Once his living arrangements are sorted, he will fully focus on football. "We plan that sometimes my family will fly to London. I will wait for them. But for now, I need to find a place to live, and then I'll be fully ready," he added. In the interview, the Burnley newcomer also thanked Kazakhstani fans for their support.
