In the draft budget for 2027-2029, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Finance has set the tenge exchange rate at 480 tenge per dollar, reports infohub.kz.
According to the published draft budget for the next three years, calculations are based on an exchange rate of 480 tenge per dollar. This rate is used, among other things, to forecast revenues to the National Fund in 2027, which are expected to be lower than the 2026 estimate and amount to 3.8 trillion tenge. Additionally, this rate is applied when calculating the repayment of budget loans over the next three years, totaling 613 billion tenge.
The budget also includes a projected oil price of $70 per barrel and an oil production plan for 2027 of 96 million tons. The decrease in tax revenues from oil sector organizations in 2027 compared to the 2026 estimate by 342 billion tenge is attributed precisely to the expected decline in oil prices.
For comparison, in the 2026 budget, the dollar exchange rate was set at 540 tenge, the oil price at $60 per barrel, and production volume at 98 million tons.
Earlier it was reported that the minimum wage in Kazakhstan in 2027 is planned to remain at 85,000 tenge.
