Kazakh entrepreneur and founder of the game development studio Cyber Temple, Alexey Nazarov, has invested $5 million in creating his own game, which has become one of the most anticipated projects, according to infohub.kz.
Nazarov was a guest on a new episode of Kursiv Talks. He began his career in fintech, but successfully sold his project and, after a short break, used the proceeds to create the studio and its first major game — Dark Switch, a city builder.
On the podcast, the entrepreneur discussed the challenges and risks behind game production: how the team hunted down bugs at launch, developed the in-game economy, the game's lore, and its design code.
Nazarov also explained in detail why it is important to listen to the community, how game developers around the world support each other, and how they managed to bring on board legendary Japanese composer and sound director Akira Yamaoka, who gained worldwide fame for the iconic Silent Hill series.
Money became a separate topic of discussion. How much does it cost to develop a game? How quickly does it recoup its investment? And why is Dark Switch a "long-term game"?
Nazarov answered all these questions in the Kursiv Talks podcast, the full version of which can be viewed on the Kursiv Media YouTube channel.
