Kazakhstan is set to experience a significant deterioration in weather conditions across multiple regions, according to Kazhydromet. Residents are being warned to prepare for a combination of extreme heat, dust storms, thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds.

Abay Region Faces Dust Storms and High Temperatures

The southern part of the Abay Region will be hit by dust storms, with winds shifting from southeast to northeast. Gusts are expected to reach 15-18 m/s during the day, with temperatures soaring to 36 degrees Celsius in the south. A high fire risk will persist in the western, southern, and central areas of the region.

Akmola Region: Thunderstorms and Hail on the Horizon

Western and northern Akmola Region can expect short-term rain, thunderstorms, and hail during the day. Winds will blow from the south-southeast, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s in the western and northern parts. A high fire risk is also anticipated in the western areas.

Aktobe Region: Fog and Varying Fire Risks

Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is possible in the northern and eastern parts of Aktobe Region overnight. Fog is expected in the northern and central areas during the night and morning. The fire risk is high in the northeast and extremely high in the southern and eastern parts. Aktobe city may experience fog during the night and morning.

Almaty Region: Heat, Thunderstorms, and Strong Winds

Mountainous areas of Almaty Region will see short-term rain and thunderstorms during the day. Winds will shift from southeast to southwest, with gusts reaching 15-18 m/s in the eastern and mountainous regions. Daytime temperatures will hit 35 degrees Celsius, potentially rising to 38 degrees in the north and center. A high fire risk remains in the northern part of the region. Konav city will experience temperatures between 36-38 degrees Celsius. In the mountainous areas of Medeu and Bostandyk districts of Almaty city, short-term rain with thunderstorms is possible, with wind gusts up to 18 m/s.

Turkistan Region: Dust Storms and Extreme Heat

Western and mountainous areas of Turkistan Region will experience rain with thunderstorms during the day. Dust storms are predicted for the northern part of the region. Winds will blow from the southeast and east, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s in the northern and mountainous areas. Daytime temperatures will reach a scorching 41 degrees Celsius across the region, with a high fire risk in the central areas. Turkistan city will see temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius.

Zhambyl Region: Thunderstorms and High Temperatures

Mountainous areas of Zhambyl Region will have rain with thunderstorms during the day. Temperatures will reach 38 degrees Celsius across the region.

Zhetysu Region: Heat and Gusty Winds

Slight rain and thunderstorms are possible in the mountainous areas of Zhetysu Region during the day. Southeast winds will blow, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s in the eastern part of the region. Daytime temperatures will be between 35-37 degrees Celsius. Fire risk is high in the southern part and extremely high in the northern and eastern parts. Taldykorgan will experience temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius during the day.

West Kazakhstan Region: Severe Weather Expected

Western and northern West Kazakhstan Region will face rain with thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds during the day. Southwesterly winds will blow, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s in the western, southern, and eastern parts. A high fire risk will persist in the western and central areas. Oral city can expect rain, thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds.

Karaganda Region: Elevated Fire Risk

A high fire risk is noted in the central Karaganda Region, with an extremely high risk in the western and northern parts, as well as in Karaganda city.

Kostanay Region: Mixed Weather and Strong Winds

Western, northern, and eastern Kostanay Region will experience rain with thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds. Southwesterly and westerly winds will blow, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s. A high fire risk will remain in the western, southern, and eastern parts. Kostanay city may have rain and thunderstorms during the night and morning, with wind gusts of 15-20 m/s.

Kyzylorda Region: Dust Storms and High Fire Danger

Slight rain and thunderstorms are expected in the southern and central parts of Kyzylorda Region overnight. Dust storms are predicted for the northern and central parts during the day. Winds will shift from southeast to northwest, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s in the north and center. Fire risk is high in the southern and northeastern parts, and extremely high in the western and northern parts.

Mangystau Region: Chance of Rain and High Fire Risk

Slight rain and thunderstorms are possible in the western and southern parts of Mangystau Region, both day and night, and in the central part during the day. Fire risk is high in the northern, eastern, and central parts, and extremely high in the northeast. Aktau city may experience slight rain and thunderstorms overnight.

Pavlodar Region: High Temperatures

Daytime temperatures in Pavlodar Region will reach 32-37 degrees Celsius. Pavlodar city will experience temperatures between 33-35 degrees Celsius.

North Kazakhstan Region: Severe Storms and Fog

Western and southern North Kazakhstan Region will see slight rain and thunderstorms overnight, followed by rain, thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds during the day. Fog is expected in the western and northern parts during the night and morning. Southerly winds will blow, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s at night and during the day, and up to 23-28 m/s in the western and southern parts in the afternoon. A high fire risk persists in the northeast. Petropavlovsk city may experience fog during the night and morning, with southerly winds gusting up to 15-20 m/s.

Previously, forecasters had warned that summer in Kazakhstan would begin with temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius. Kazhydromet also provided weather forecasts for Astana and Almaty for the next three days.
