Sabina Altynbekova Confirms Volleyball Career Continues After Astana Club Departure

Sabina Altynbekova, one of Kazakhstan's most recognizable athletes, has revealed that her professional volleyball career is far from over, despite recently parting ways with her club, Astana.

The 29-year-old athlete mutually terminated her contract with the Astana team with just one month remaining in the regular season. While she is currently not affiliated with any club, Altynbekova expressed her commitment to continuing her athletic journey.

Future Plans Confirmed

"The volleyball season in Kazakhstan concludes in about a month. I decided to end it for specific reasons. Will I continue my career? Of course! Stay tuned for news," Altynbekova stated, hinting at future developments.

A Star in Kazakh Volleyball

Altynbekova, who returned to play in Kazakhstan last autumn after several years with international teams, spent the past season with the Astana club. Her journey in volleyball began at a young age, being called up to various national youth teams for Kazakhstan starting at 17.

Her profile significantly rose in 2014 during the Asian Junior Volleyball Championship, where she was not only a standout player but also recognized as the most beautiful athlete of the tournament. This recognition propelled her to international fame.

Following her surge in popularity, Altynbekova played for several foreign clubs, including GSS Sunbeams in Japan, Al-Wasl in the UAE, and Yogya Falcons in Indonesia. Currently, her Instagram account boasts over 1.1 million followers, solidifying her status as one of Kazakhstan's most prominent sports personalities.
