Figure skater Sofia Samodelkina has achieved a significant personal milestone at the XXV Winter Olympics in Milan, representing Kazakhstan. She concluded the women's singles competition by setting a new personal best score, earning a 10th-place finish.
Record-Breaking Performance
Taking to the ice in Milan as the thirteenth competitor, Samodelkina delivered a flawless performance in her program, accumulating 138.99 points. This strong showing contributed to a total score of 207.46 points across both programs, marking the highest score of her career. Her previous personal best was 205.67 points, set in 2021.
Podium Finishers
The gold medal in the event was claimed by USA's Alysa Liu with a total score of 226.79 points. Japan's Kaori Sakamoto secured the silver medal with 224.90 points, while her compatriot Ami Nakai took home the bronze with 219.16 points.
Kazakhstan's Figure Skating History
In the history of Kazakhstan's participation in the Winter Olympics for women's figure skating, only Elizabet Tursynbaeva and Aiza Mambekova had previously competed, both in 2018.
