Restrictive measures have been introduced in the Auliekol District of the Kostanay Region following an outbreak of brucellosis among cattle. Quarantine has been established in the villages of Kazanbasy and Oktyabrskoye، both located in the Kazanbasy rural district.

"During the quarantine period، healthy animals cannot be brought into the villages of Kazanbasy and Oktyabrskoye، and livestock may only be removed for slaughter. Furthermore، the harvesting of hay، straw، and other rough feed for export to other areas is prohibited. Events involving the gathering of animals or people are also banned،" according to reports.

Veterinary and sanitary measures will be carried out at the sites of brucellosis outbreaks.

Brucellosis is a severe zoonotic infection transmitted from infected animals to humans. It affects the musculoskeletal system، as well as the nervous، reproductive، and cardiovascular systems. The disease is not transmitted from person to person، and treatment involves long courses of antibiotics.

Livestock farmer Kuanysh Suleimenov believes that a potential shortage of feed could lead to mass slaughter of livestock in Kazakhstan. He suggests developing an interregional assistance plan: identifying areas with sufficient grass، accelerating the harvesting and delivery of hay to affected zones.
