Antique Arms Mistaken for Arsenal in Astana Apartment Complex

A recent report by a Member of Parliament regarding a supposed 'arsenal' of weapons found in an Astana residential complex has been clarified by Nazarbayev University. The university has stated that the items in question were not illegal firearms but rather historical artifacts.

Misidentification of Artifacts

The confusion arose when a resident of the 'Highvill' residential complex reported seeing weapons in a neighbor's apartment. This led to a police investigation.

Historical Significance Confirmed

University representatives explained that the items were actually historical artifacts dating from the 15th to 18th centuries. "These are museum exhibits، and they cannot be used for their intended purpose،" a university spokesperson stated. The collection was officially imported into Kazakhstan with all necessary documentation.

No Threat to Residents

The Astana police department later confirmed the findings. A neighbor، not the apartment owner، had alerted the authorities about what appeared to be weapons being brought into the apartment in boxes. Upon inspection، it was determined that the items were antique firearms of historical and cultural value، not modern weaponry، and posed no threat to residents.

It was also noted that the owners of the collection have no affiliation with the university.
