Authorities in Astana have arrested a 35-year-old man accused of running a scam that targeted individuals seeking affordable holiday accommodations. The suspect allegedly used social media platforms to post fake advertisements، luring unsuspecting victims with promises of cheap rentals at popular recreation bases.

Deceptive Online Listings

Operating under the guise of offering attractive deals، the man posted numerous misleading advertisements on Instagram. He reportedly enticed potential renters by claiming high demand for the properties، urging them to transfer advance payments quickly to secure their bookings.

Funds Misappropriated

Once the funds were transferred to his accounts، the suspect is said to have used the money for his personal expenses، leaving the victims without the promised accommodations or their money. Investigations have so far linked the suspect to at least seven separate fraudulent transactions.

A pre-trial investigation is currently underway regarding this case.
