Atyrau Family Murder Suspect Sent for Psychiatric Evaluation

Following the shocking murder of a family in the Atyrau region، new information has surfaced regarding the health status of Akbayan Mukangalieva، who has been identified as a suspect. She is currently undergoing treatment at a psychiatric facility in Atyrau.

Psychiatric Care Details

According to the suspect's mother-in-law، Mukangalieva is receiving care at a medical institution in Atyrau that provides psychiatric assistance. It remains unclear whether she had a prior history of psychiatric treatment. Official inquiries to the Atyrau Regional Police Department and the Ministry of Health have not yet yielded a response. The Health Department has stated that this matter falls under the jurisdiction of the police.

Criminal Investigation Underway

A criminal case has been initiated، and the investigation is ongoing. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has confirmed that the involvement of the family's youngest daughter in the crime is being investigated. A forensic psychiatric examination has been ordered to determine her mental state.

Victims Identified

As previously reported، Maksot Karabalin، 66، and Nasip Oteshkalieva، 64، were found on March 9th in the yard of their home in the Geolog microdistrict near Atyrau. The bodies of their son، Nauryz، and daughter، Miramgul، were also discovered at the scene، confirming the deaths of all four family members.

Primary Suspect Apprehended

The main suspect identified in the case is the family's son-in-law، 29-year-old Sultan Sarsemaliev. He was apprehended in Indonesia and extradited to Kazakhstan. His wife، Akbayan Mukangalieva، was detained alongside him.
