Atyrau's New Central Park Opening Delayed Until Late April

The highly anticipated opening of Atyrau's new central park has been rescheduled for late April، according to Rafiq Abuov، acting head of the Atyrau Regional Department of Construction، Architecture، and Urban Planning.

Challenges Delaying Park Opening

Construction on the new park، which began in 2023 and is funded by sponsorship from the NCOC company، was originally planned to conclude by the end of last year. However، several significant issues have emerged، pushing back the completion date.

Infrastructure Hurdles

One of the primary obstacles involved connecting the park's sewage system. Initially، the plan was to link it to the city's network near the "Tamasha" shopping and entertainment center. This proved unfeasible due to the lack of a designated corridor for the necessary pipeline. Consequently، a new plan was adopted to connect to the sewage line being constructed along Pushkin Street.

Landscaping Complications

The landscaping process also presented unexpected difficulties. The project initially included tree species، such as oaks and three-thorned acacias، that are not well-adapted to the local climate. This necessitated a revision of the planting list. Planting of trees and shrubs commenced in the autumn، with irrigation planned via a water pipeline drawn from the Ural River.

Project Completion and Naming

"The connection of utilities and landscaping work will be fully completed by the end of April this year،" stated R. Abuov. The park's official opening is also scheduled for April.

Currently، the park does not have an official name. Previous suggestions included "First President Park،" "Presidential Park،" or simply "Central Park." The final name will be determined by the onomastic commission.
