Blogger Erbolat Zhanabylov Admits Guilt Partially in Court، Cries
In a Astana court session، well-known blogger Erbolat Zhanabylov has partially admitted to the charges brought against him. During his statement، he acknowledged his guilt in part and became visibly emotional، shedding tears.
Zhanabylov، responding to questions from his lawyer Gauhar Aytzhanova، stated that neither he nor his wife، Elmira Tolegenova، fully confess to all charges. He indicated that they accept guilt only under Article 214 but deny it under Article 218. The blogger also mentioned that he was not warned that this case would escalate into a criminal matter.

He shared that his parents and close relatives are experiencing immense stress. The blogger recalled his humble upbringing، noting that his family did not have much when he was young. He expressed distress at being portrayed as fraudsters and criminals alongside his wife.

Erbolat Zhanabylov and Elmira Tolegenova face charges including "Illegal Entrepreneurship" and "Legalization of Money or Other Property Obtained Through Criminal Means." According to investigative data، their projects received a total of 247،653،000 tenge in their accounts.
Previously، the blogger received a warning during a court hearing. Additionally، the bloggers' lawyer filed a motion to return the case to the prosecutor، but the court denied this request.
