In the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 series event، Rybakina، ranked as Kazakhstan's second-best player، faced off against the world's fifth-ranked opponent. The match began with Pegula taking an early lead، decisively winning the first set 6-2.

However، Rybakina adapted her strategy in the second set. Despite Pegula's strong performance، Rybakina managed to break her opponent's serve when the score was 3-2 and went on to win the set 6-3، leveling the match.
