Fans of the Shymkent-based 'Ordabasy' football club have held a special ceremony to commemorate Mukhtar Shakhanov، the celebrated People's Writer of Kazakhstan، poet، and public figure. The tribute took place during the team's match against 'Kaspءىy' as part of the Kazakhstan Cup.

During the game، supporters unfurled a banner featuring a portrait of Mukhtar Shakhanov. This gesture served as a heartfelt expression of respect and remembrance for the beloved writer and poet.

Remembering Mukhtar Shakhanov

Mukhtar Shakhanov was born on July 2، 1942. He graduated from the Shymkent Pedagogical Institute with a degree in Kazakh language and literature. The distinguished writer passed away on April 19 at the age of 84. Shakhanov was a prominent Soviet and Kazakh poet، writer، politician، former Member of the Mazhilis (Parliament)، recipient of the Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan award، People's Writer of Kazakhstan، and People's Poet of Kyrgyzstan.

Previously، a farewell ceremony for Mukhtar Shakhanov was held in Almaty. Following this، city residents launched a petition to name a street in his honor.
