A former student opened fire at a vocational lyceum in the Siverek district of Turkey's Şanlıurfa province on April 14، leaving at least 16 people injured. The motive behind the attack is currently under investigation.

The Attacker and the Aftermath

According to preliminary reports، the assailant was a former student born in 2007. Provincial Governor Hasan Şıldak confirmed that the young man died by suicide after the attack.

Students Leap from Windows to Escape

Witnesses described a chaotic scene where the attacker initially fired indiscriminately with a long rifle on the school grounds before entering the building and continuing his shooting spree. Some students were forced to jump from windows to escape the gunfire.

Victims of the Attack

Among the injured were four teachers، ten students، one police officer، and a cafeteria worker. Medical assistance is being provided to all those affected by the incident.

Response and Evacuation

Emergency services and law enforcement quickly arrived at the scene. The majority of students and staff were evacuated from the premises following the incident.
