Kazakhstan and China Forge Ahead in Road Construction Standards
Kazakhstan and China are embarking on a significant collaboration to elevate road construction standards. Experts from both nations have initiated discussions to jointly develop international standards، a move poised to boost the quality of road building and introduce cutting-edge technologies.
Joint Development of International Standards
During recent meetings held in Astana and Almaty، representatives from Kazakhstan's 'KazdorNII' JSC and scientific-technological organizations from the People's Republic of China convened to discuss the joint development of international standards (ISO) for the road sector. A key focus of these negotiations was the establishment of common approaches that incorporate modern technologies and quality requirements.
Integrating New Technologies and Materials
Furthermore، prospects for implementing new road construction technologies were explored with China's Central Fortune Creation Technology Group Co.، Ltd. This included adapting road construction materials to Kazakhstan's specific climatic conditions and outlining directions for technological cooperation. Initial results from the use of wear-resistant asphalt pavement (GT-8) on the Almaty – Shelek – Korgas highway were also discussed، with ongoing monitoring of its performance indicators.
Innovative Solutions and Digitalization
The meetings addressed crucial aspects such as testing and implementing new materials، monitoring road performance throughout their entire lifecycle، and adopting innovative solutions. Plans are in place to launch pilot projects، create databases for materials and technologies، and advance intelligent transportation systems. The application of modern methods for inspecting bridges and digital technologies within the infrastructure sector also received attention.
Key Areas of Cooperation
This partnership aims to enhance Kazakhstan's role in international transport corridors and foster the development of its road sector. Four primary areas of interaction are being refined: assessing road traffic safety، developing international road transport، improving intelligent transportation systems، and implementing green initiatives within the road industry.
