Court Verdict Details

The Astana court convicted an individual identified as R.A. under Article 194، Part 3، Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan. This charge pertains to extortion committed by a group of individuals in a particularly large scale. As a result، R.A. was sentenced to six years and six months imprisonment، with confiscation of property.

Another individual، R.T.، was also found guilty under the same article and received a six-year prison sentence.

Case Background

The proceedings for this case were conducted under a closed regime. According to the court's press service، the verdict has not yet entered into legal force and is currently under appeal.

Previously، on December 20، 2024، the Prosecutor General's Office announced the detention of a group accused of extorting money through the 'QirSabyn' Telegram channel by threatening to disseminate false information.
