Kazakhstan to Launch Artificial Rain Project to Combat Water Scarcity

Kazakhstan is embarking on an ambitious project to induce artificial rainfall، a significant step aimed at tackling the nation's growing water scarcity challenges. This initiative was revealed during a meeting between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the head of the UN's World Meteorological Organization.

Project Details and Objectives

The artificial rain project will be implemented in the Turkestan region in collaboration with the National Center of Meteorology of the United Arab Emirates. The primary goals are to increase water levels in reservoirs and ensure adequate water supply for agricultural lands، crucial for the region's food security.

The full-scale launch of this innovative project is scheduled for May 17، 2026.
