Kazakhstan to Mark May 7 & 9 with Events، No Military Parade This Year
Kazakhstan will not hold its traditional military parade on May 7 and 9 this year. Instead، a series of alternative commemorative events are being organized across the country.
The decision to forgo the large-scale military display was announced by Askar Mustabekov، Deputy Minister of Defense، during a briefing at the Senate. He confirmed that the Ministry of Defense will not allocate funds for a parade، with local authorities taking the lead in organizing the celebrations.
Diverse Commemorative Activities Planned
While a parade is off the table، Mustabekov outlined that numerous events are scheduled from May 7 to 9 in cities، regions، and district centers. These will include open-air concerts، displays of military equipment and weaponry، and the setting up of tents where veterans of the Great Patriotic War can be honored and share a meal with soldiers.
The Ministry of Defense has stated that a comprehensive list of all planned commemorative activities will be released at a later date.
Previous Year's Scale
In contrast to this year's plans، a significant military parade was held in Astana last year. That event marked Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It featured over 4،000 military personnel، more than 200 pieces of military hardware، and 66 aircraft.
