Macron Urges Immediate Unconditional Opening of Strait of Hormuz
French President Emmanuel Macron has issued a strong call for the immediate and unconditional lifting of the blockade affecting the Strait of Hormuz. The French leader made his appeal via his official account on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Call for Unrestricted Navigation
Macron stressed the urgency of the situation، stating، "All parties must immediately and unconditionally open the strait. It is crucial that freedom of navigation in the strait returns to its pre-war state."
Multinational Mission to Restore Confidence
The French President highlighted the role of a multinational mission، established by France and the United Kingdom، in helping to restore confidence between shipowners and insurers. He believes that stabilizing the situation in this vital region could facilitate progress in negotiations concerning nuclear issues، ballistic missiles، and broader regional stability.
Naval Readiness for Security
In line with these efforts، the French armed forces announced that the French aircraft carrier strike group has proceeded south of the Suez Canal into the Red Sea. This move is in preparation for a potential mission related to the Strait of Hormuz، as part of a Franco-British plan.
"This demonstrates not only our readiness but also our capability to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz،" stated a representative from the Élysée Palace.
Naval Assets Deployed
The French aircraft carrier 'Charles de Gaulle' is reportedly carrying approximately 20 Rafale fighter jets and is accompanied by several frigates as part of this deployment.
