Nazarbayev's Granddaughter-in-Law Shares Heartfelt Update on Grandmother's Dementia
Aida Aliyeva، the elder granddaughter-in-law of Kazakhstan's first president Nursultan Nazarbayev، has shared a touching personal update regarding the health of a beloved family member.
Aliyeva، who is married to Nurali Aliev، the son of Dariga Nazarbayeva and Rakhat Aliyev، revealed that her grandmother has been living with dementia for several years. Currently residing abroad، Aliyeva expressed her regret at not being able to be by her grandmother's side daily.
Moments of Clarity
Despite the challenges posed by the condition، Aliyeva noted that her grandmother experiences moments of remarkable lucidity. She shared an anecdote on social media، accompanied by photos of them together، describing how her grandmother can become surprisingly alert and articulate when prompted.
"My grandmother has been struggling with dementia for several years. In daily life، she often doesn't feel like talking، can become withdrawn، and remain silent for long periods. But when I say، 'Ak-mama، let's record a video for the children and grandchildren، it's very important for me to preserve your words،' something wonderful happens. She gathers herself، comes alive، and starts speaking. She speaks so clearly and understandably that many people don't believe she has dementia،" Aliyeva wrote.
The Significance of Care
Aliyeva also highlighted the crucial role of her aunt، the patient's daughter-in-law، who is present with her grandmother every day. She lauded this constant presence as a prime example of genuine love and care for elders.
She emphasized that the most vital elements in interacting with elderly individuals are attention، kindness، and simply being present. Even if an elderly person doesn't wish to speak، Aliyeva stated، offering a hug، holding their hand، or just sitting beside them provides immense support.
"Yes، sometimes it's not easy to communicate with elderly people. But when we were little، it wasn't always easy with us either،" she reflected.
Concluding her post، Aida Aliyeva reminded readers that gratitude and love are demonstrated not just through words، but through concrete actions.
"Gratitude is measured by the time we dedicate to each other، by our attention، our care، and simply by being there،" she concluded.
