Nazarbayev's Nephew Denied Bankruptcy Over Undisclosed Debt

Nurbek Nazarbayev، son of Bolat Nazarbayev and nephew of former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev، has once again been denied his bid to be officially declared bankrupt. This marks the second time his request has been rejected by the court، this time due to his failure to fully disclose inherited debts.

Inherited Debt and Legal Battles

The court initially rejected Nurbek Nazarbayev's bankruptcy petition because he failed to notify one of his creditors. The debt in question stems from his father، Bolat Nazarbayev، who passed away leaving behind a significant financial obligation related to a spirits factory. Court documents reveal that Bolat Nazarbayev had obtained a substantial interest-free loan from the enterprise، later transferring its assets through undisclosed means.

Following the factory's bankruptcy، a bankruptcy administrator sought to reverse these transactions and recover assets. The court invalidated the loan agreement، ordering Bolat Nazarbayev to return the assets to the company. Further investigation uncovered that six vehicles، valued at 19 million tenge، were missing from the company's balance sheet، and this amount was also to be recovered from Bolat Nazarbayev.

However، Bolat Nazarbayev died before settling this debt، which then passed to his heirs، including Nurbek Nazarbayev.

Nurbek Nazarbayev's Total Debt

Nurbek Nazarbayev faces at least two major outstanding debts totaling approximately 63.7 billion tenge. A significant portion of this amount، 55 billion tenge، is owed to a special state fund.

These substantial obligations are considered mandatory payments to the budget، making them ineligible for discharge through bankruptcy proceedings. Additionally، Aidarbek Khusainov، the former owner of the "Altyn Orda" market، has filed a lawsuit against Nurbek Nazarbayev for 15 billion tenge. During the investigation of this case، the court ordered the freezing of Nurbek Nazarbayev's assets and bank accounts.
