Paralympic Champion Yerbol Khamitov Returns to Kazakhstan to Hero's Welcome
Paralympic Games biathlon gold medalist Yerbol Khamitov has returned to Kazakhstan، arriving at Astana airport to a warm welcome from dozens of supporters. The triumphant athlete was greeted by family، friends، and fellow citizens eager to celebrate his historic victory.

Yerbol Khamitov secured a bronze medal in ski sprint and a gold medal in biathlon at the 2026 Paralympic Games. This remarkable achievement makes him the first Kazakhstani athlete to win multiple medals in the history of the Winter Paralympic Games. His gold medal in para biathlon marks a first for Kazakhstan in Paralympic history.
Khamitov's athletic journey began in childhood. Despite losing his legs at the age of 19، he continued his passion for sports. He became a medalist in the Kazakhstan Cup in grappling in 2017.
