Astana police have apprehended a 27-year-old BMW driver who demonstrated a blatant disregard for traffic regulations، leading to his arrest. The individual had a history of serious traffic violations throughout the year.

Pattern of Dangerous Driving

Authorities confirmed that the driver's violations were not isolated incidents but a consistent pattern of behavior. Since the beginning of the year، he had been cited 61 times for traffic offenses، with 59 of those citations for speeding.

Among the most alarming incidents was his high-speed run through a pedestrian crossing on Al-Farabi Street. He was recorded traveling at 133 km/h in a 60 km/h zone، ignoring a red light. Previously، he had also been clocked driving at an astonishing 216 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.

Police officials emphasized that such reckless actions pose a direct threat to the lives and safety of citizens.

Driver Faces Consequences

As a result of his persistent disregard for the law، the driver has been taken into custody and sentenced to 15 days in jail for petty hooliganism. His vehicle has been impounded.

"Individuals who consciously and systematically disregard the requirements of the law، regardless of previously paid fines or income level، will face strict measures as provided for by legislation. The law is the same for everyone،" stated the department.
