Trump Demands Iran Abandon Nuclear Weapons، Reopen Strait of Hormuz

U.S. President Donald Trump announced he would convene a meeting at the White House Situation Room to make a final decision on critical issues concerning Iran. This move signals a significant escalation in U.S. policy towards the nation.

Key Demands Issued to Iran

President Trump laid out clear conditions for Iran's compliance. He stated that Iran must agree to never possess nuclear weapons or a nuclear bomb. Furthermore، the immediate and unimpeded passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz must be restored.

Trump also addressed the issue of naval mines، stating، "We have destroyed a large portion of such mines through our great submarine mine hunters. Iran is obligated to remove or destroy the remaining mines immediately." He added that ships stranded in the strait due to the U.S. naval blockade would be able to return home.

Nuclear Material Disposal

The President revealed that the United States، in close coordination with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)، would remove and dispose of enriched nuclear material. This material is reportedly stored deep underground following a strike by bombers eleven months prior.

Trump concluded by stating، "No funds will be transferred pending further notice. Agreements have also been reached on other، far less important matters. I am now going to the situation room to make a decision." This suggests that further negotiations or actions are imminent.

Previously، the Axios agency reported that the U.S. and Iran had reached an agreement، but Trump had not yet given final approval.
