Authorities in Kazakhstan have identified a 49-year-old man responsible for vandalizing rock formations within the Karaganda National Park. The incident، which sparked public outrage، has led to an administrative case being opened against the individual.

The regional police department confirmed they identified the perpetrator while monitoring online resources. The graffiti not only marred the aesthetic appeal of the rocks but also caused damage to the natural landscape of the protected area.

Suspect Identified and Charged

The individual apprehended is a resident of Shakhtinsk city. According to the press service of the regional police department، an administrative case has been initiated against him under the article concerning 'Minor hooliganism.' The collected materials have been forwarded to the court for a procedural decision.

Protecting Natural Heritage

This act of vandalism has highlighted concerns about the preservation of natural heritage sites. The police department reiterated that any actions causing damage to natural monuments are subject to legal penalties. They urged residents and tourists to treat the environment with care and adhere to behavioral regulations within specially protected natural areas.

This incident follows a similar case in the Almaty region where unknown individuals defaced a monument commemorating the Battle of Uzenagash. While authorities in that instance removed the graffiti and initiated an investigation، the Karaganda case underscores the ongoing challenge of protecting natural and historical sites from damage.
